Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) is a global community for women in the STEM field. This group started in 1921, and its mission is to empower, inspire, support, and recognize women in science. Today, GWIS has more than 1,000 members and many chapters in the United States and across the globe. The Delaware chapter- Graduate Women In Science, established at the University of Delaware in 2019, is located in Delaware and reflects the vibrant energy of the area.

At Delaware Chapter- Graduate Women In Science, we strive to connect UD graduate women in the STEM field to other passionate, diverse scientists to uplift each other and work together to promote science. We aim to create a haven where graduate students and women scientists from UD and the surrounding community, will accomplish all of their goals, both personally and professionally. We offer the students a variety of opportunities to participate in outreach activities, networking, and making an impact in the community.

Delaware Chapter Officers, Mugdha (Vice President) and Aya (National Liasion), represented GWIS at the Upward Bound STEM Panel. This interactive event enabled high school students to ask questions to female scientists across the US. It was a motivating, inspiring, and fun chat!
